Historic buildings, Castles and Palaces

Blairgowrie is so central to Scotland, Edinburgh and Stirling Castles are reachable on a day trip. Other sites worth seeing are closer by though.
Glamis Castle

Glamis Castle

Glamis was the birthplace of The Queen's late mother and is well worth a visit not only for the castle itself, but also for the gardens. Glamis is 20 minutes' drive from Rosebank.

Balmoral

Balmoral

Her Majesty The Queen's Scottish home is just over an hour's drive north from Rosebank through Glenshee. Balmoral is not open late August/early September when The Queen takes her Scottish holiday and attends the Braemar Gathering.

Dunottar Castle

Dunottar Castle

This magnificent ruin is on a cliff top overlooking the North Sea, near Stonehaven, south of Aberdeen. The weather doesn't matter since Dunottar is photogenic in rain or sunshine.
